Wild & Raptors Tour

  • 08h30 – Duration: 8 hours

This tour is the ultimate mixture of land and aerial game!

The African Bird of Prey Sanctuary – a working facility striving for the conservation of indigenous raptors and which acts as a base for ongoing research, breeding and rehabilitation projects for birds of prey.  The Mayibuye community owns the land on which this facility is found and shares a percentage of all gate takings.  The sanctuary cares for over 180 different birds of prey of 50 different species.  Captive-bred or “non-releasable” birds of prey may be viewed in “micro-environment” enclosures and a specially trained group of raptors are flown in daily flight displays.

Thereafter we make our way to Tala Game Reserve for a lunch stop and to enjoy an open vehicle game drive with a ranger.  This Reserve is home to many plains game (zebra, giraffe, gnu, impala, warthog, kudu, water buck, etc), abundant bird life (ostrich, Egyptian geese, plover, herons, red bishop, etc) and (de-horned) rhinoceros.
