Wild Cats & World Heritage Tour

  • 07h00 – Duration: 13 hours

This tour is a nature-lover’s dream!

The Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre is a wildlife sanctuary for endangered cat species where injured or orphaned cat species are treated and rehabilitated, with a view to them being released back into the wild. Some of the wild cats housed at the Centre include cheetah, African wild cat, servals and caracals.

Visit the “micro-environment” enclosures with your guide to see these amazing felines up close and to learn about the wonderful work undertaken by this Centre.

Thereafter, travel to the quaint town of St Lucia for a lunch stop and (time permitting), to enjoy a stroll long the boardwalk to the local beach to view the second highest vegetated sand dune in the world or to buy some arts/crafts from the local vendors.

Thereafter, embark on a 2-hour ferry cruise in the the iSimangaliso Wetland Park – South Africa’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site!  This Park covers an area of 3280 square kilometres and was established in 1895.  See large numbers of hippo, crocodiles, pelicans, heron and fish eagle in their natural habitat.

You may also be lucky enough to view a leopard in a tree, or an elephant come to drink along the banks of the estuary!
