South Coast & Oribi Gorge Tour

  • 08h30 – Duration: 9 hours

Enjoy a scenic coastal drive heading south of Durban, with a stop at one of the quaint beach towns for a stroll along the promenade or a swim in the sea.

Continue onwards to Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve, situated 21 kilometres inland from Port Shepstone, and boasts cliffs, forests, rivers, rapids, ravines, various small antelope (including the rarely seen oribi, after which the Reserve is named), leopards, troops of baboons and 250 different bird species.  The 24 kilometres gorge is dominated by high sandstone cliffs, carved out by the Umzimkulwana River.

If you are an adrenaline junkie, why not sit on the edge of Hanging Rock or try the gorge swing from the waterfall (additional cost) – while the less adventurous can take photographs Baboon Castle nearby!
